About this treatment

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that uses tiny, fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the body’s natural healing process, encouraging collagen and elastin production. The result is smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin. This treatment is effective for improving skin texture, reducing the appearance of fine lines, acne scars, and stretch marks, and addressing uneven skin tone.

During the treatment, a specialized device with tiny needles is gently rolled over the skin’s surface, creating controlled micro-injuries. This triggers the skin’s healing response, leading to the production of fresh collagen and elastin, which helps to improve skin structure and elasticity. The process is minimally invasive, and many clients experience little discomfort, with the added benefit of minimal downtime.

Is it right for you?

  • Acne scars, especially rolling and boxcar scars
  • Fine lines and early wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores and rough or uneven texture
  • Mild sun damage or dull, uneven tone
  • Loss of firmness on the face, neck or chest
  • People wanting real change with only a few days of recovery

Why clients love it

Natural collagen boost
Controlled micro-injuries prompt your skin's own repair process, which builds new collagen and elastin over time.
Smoother scars and texture
It is a well-studied option for improving the look of acne scars, pores and rough texture.
Short recovery
Redness usually looks like a mild sunburn and fades over a few days, far less downtime than surgical or ablative options.
Works for many skin tones
Because it does not rely on heat or light, microneedling can be a good option for many skin types when performed with care.

Our recommendations

  • Most clients see the best results with a series of 3 to 6 sessions spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart.
  • Results build for weeks to months as collagen forms. Plan a maintenance session every 6 to 12 months.
  • For added glow and repair, upgrade to the Micro Needling. For deeper tightening, ask about Morpheus8 (RF Microneedling). Neurotoxins such as Botox pair well for expression lines.
  • Book at least 1 to 2 weeks before a major event. Avoid sunburn and pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for a few days before treatment.
  • After treatment, skip makeup for about 24 hours, avoid heavy sweating and sun for a few days, use gentle products and wear SPF daily.

Common questions

Is microneedling worth the investment?

For scars, texture and early aging, it is a well-studied non-surgical option, with short downtime.

Does it hurt?

A numbing cream is commonly applied first, so most clients feel light pressure or a scratchy sensation. Bony areas can feel more sensitive.

What is the downtime?

Expect redness and mild swelling similar to a sunburn for about 1 to 3 days, sometimes up to 5. Many people return to work the next day and wear makeup once the skin has calmed.

When will I see results?

Skin often looks brighter within a week. Collagen-related changes in scars and lines appear gradually over the following weeks and months, and improve with each session. Results vary.

Who should not get microneedling?

It is not recommended during pregnancy, with active acne breakouts, cold sores or skin infections in the area, open wounds, recent isotretinoin (Accutane) use, or a history of keloid scarring. Tell us about blood thinners or immune conditions.
